Hi everyone,
Here is a compilation I made of all the available footage of the "Threetles" recording Free as a Bird in Paul's home studio, Hogg Hill Mill, in February 1994. While the exact date of this footage is unknown, I know it is all definitely from the same day as their clothing remains the same throughout the footage. For the first two clips, I have attempted to remove the George interview which plays over it in its original source (the Anthology DVD extras). While it's definitely not perfect, I think it's a definite improvement. Also, for the clips of the three adding overdubs, I have used the isolated stems mainly due to copyright restrictions, but I think it makes for an interesting watch as well! The available footage captures Paul, George, Ringo, and Jeff Lynne studying the arrangement of the song, as well as Paul and George adding acoustic guitar, Ringo overdubbing snare, and Paul adding a bass line through his 5-string Wal bass. I hope you enjoy!
