In Sarstedt, a small town near Hanover, the operator of a refugee home was murdered. The suspect, an Iraqi, was quickly caught and is in custody. The Iraqi had already been deported to Poland in 2017, but returned and was tolerated in Germany. Despite several rejected asylum applications, he was able to stay in the country. The authorities are waiting for a decision from the European Court of Justice to be able to close the case.
