In this video, I'm going to show you how to change a cell color based on another cell value. Furthermore, you will learn how to modify a conditional formatting rule.

The first thing is to select the range of cells where you want to use conditional formatting. Then, click the Home Tab and select Conditional formatting. Click New Rule. Choose the "Format only cells that contain" option. At the bottom section, you can add the conditions. In the example, I want to highlight cells where the sales are greater than this value. Choose the greater than operator. You can add the value manually, but please don't do that. Link the cell value. Then click the format button. Choose your preferred color for the cell background. In the example, I use a green fill color. Press OK twice to close the dialog boxes. Excel will dynamically highlight the cells that meet the given criteria. To change the rule, highlight the cells then click conditional formatting. Click Manage Rules. Then choose Edit rule. If you want to highlight cells less than this value, change the logical operator to less than. And apply a different fill color. Click Apply to use the new rule.
