Do you remember the 737 that landed on grass?
TACA flight 110 encountered severe thunderstorm activity on its final approach to its destination. As a result, the brand new Boeing 737 suffered a flameout in both engines while descending through the thunderstorm. With no time to start the engines, and low altitude, the pilots had no other choice but to emergency land on a grass levee adjacent to NASA's Michoud Assembly Facility. The passengers deboarded unharmed, a new set of engines were mounted and the jet took off from Saturn Boulevard, a road which had previously been an aircraft runway at Michoud. The aircraft was subsequently repaired and returned to service for many more years.
