golife, windowing Conway's Game of Life
I found the most outstanding feature -- or most insignificant -- of golife [1] is its windowing, which probably has been put in more efforts and codes to implement the feature than supposed GoL, although I didn't read the code since I can't Go.
The Game of Life part doesn't seem to be the focal point, there is not stepping, basically just one new window (as in for new seeds) has anything to do with GoL. The rest of controls are the window management.
It actually is a Highlife [2] and "[a]dditional rules have been added that simulate a genome with a gene for color and shape."
