“Battleship Potemkin” is a silent historical feature film shot by director Sergei Eisenstein at the first Goskino film factory in 1925. Throughout the years, it was recognized as the best or one of the best films of all time according to surveys of critics, filmmakers, and the public.
The plot, based on a true historical event, figuratively expressed the main social trends of the twentieth century: the massive desire for freedom, the fight against tyranny, the protection of human dignity, and the call for the unity of people in the name of equality.
