The 3 Costs of Playing Video Games
Playing comes with many costs, such as the price of the game or platform... and not only. Which are the other costs, why do they matter, and can we do anything about them?
If I were to ask you "what do you pay to play a game?", what would you say? Answering with "the price of the game" would be a sensible response, but - in reality - there are other, less obvious costs that your players have to pay.
And because designing great games is our job, we can also go an extra mile and think of different ways we can reduce these costs. And fortunately for us, there are plenty! So, let's take a deep dive into this subject to understand what the fees of play are, and how we can minimize them...
