About this video: In this video, we show you how to mod Minecraft Java Edition 1.20.4. From how to download mods in Minecraft 1.20.4 to how to install mods in Minecraft 1.20.4, this video covers it all. We even go over where to download Minecraft mods.
First things first, I do want to mention there are two types of Minecraft mods - Forge and Fabric. We are going to be showing you how to get Forge mods for 1.20.4 in this video. However, there is a guide for Fabric mods in the description above. The mod loader you choose depends on the Minecraft mods you want, so keep that in-mind which choosing.
From there, we need to get started by downloading Forge. There is a link in the description above to our complete text guide on getting Forge. Once you are there, click on the “Download Forge” button to go to the official Forge download page.
On the Forge download page, click on the 1.20.4 version on the left, and go under “Download Latest” and click on “Installer”. That will take you to AdFocus where you need to wait about 10 seconds and click “Skip Ad” in the top right to start download Forge 1.20.4.
Next, open up the Forge Installer you downloaded with Java. Then, click on “Install Client” and click “Okay”. Forge 1.20.4 will install!
We can now move on to how to download Minecraft mods for 1.20.4. There is a link in the description above to the mods we install in this video as well as the download pages for Minecraft mods on CurseForge and Modrinth. Both are great places to download mods just make sure any mods you download are for the 1.20.4 Forge mod loader.
Once you have your Minecraft mods downloaded, let’s move on to how to install Minecraft mods in 1.20.4. To do this, open up Minecraft with Forge by selecting it in the Minecraft Launcher, and clicking “Play”.
On the Minecraft main menu, click on “Mods” and then “Mods Folder” in the bottom left. This will open your mods folder. Finally, to add mods to Minecraft 1.20.4, drag-and-drop any mods you want to install into mods folder. It’s that easy to get mods in Minecraft Java Edition 1.20.4.
In order to use the Minecraft mods you installed, you will need to restart Minecraft. Just make sure you are playing Minecraft with the Forge installation. Otherwise, it won’t work.
