Step 1: To make a new virtual machine in VMware Workstation Pro, open the program. Click "Create a New VM" to begin. The wizard will help you customize it. Pick "Custom" to set things up just how you like. Then, keep going to create your virtual machine.

Step 2: Please adjust the hardware settings to make sure they're compatible with version 17.x.

Step 3: When you're installing, at the "Install From" window, choose the correct option. Pick "I will install the operating system later." This lets you keep going with the installation without installing the OS right away.

Step 4: Select Linux as a platform, then choose Debian 12.x 64-bit for installation.

Step 5: Name your virtual machine "Kali Linux." Stick with the default installation path. Make sure everything's set up right for the Kali Linux virtual machine.

Step 6: In the Processor Configuration window, tweak the virtual cores to boost performance. Base your changes on the type of physical processor you have. Adding more virtual cores helps use processing power to the max.

Step 7: When you're setting up your virtual machine, change the memory allocation as required. Open the "Memory for Virtual Machine" window. Pick the maximum memory that fits within your PC's RAM capacity to keep things running smoothly.

Step 8: Go to the Network Type window. Select the Network Address Translation (NAT) option. This lets devices communicate safely with the internet.

Step 9: Keep the I/O Controller Type as LSI Logic for smooth VM operation. This setting handles input/output tasks well, ensuring optimal performance.

Step 10: Go to the Disk Type window. Select the newer NVMe technology for better disk performance.

Step 11: When you reach the "Select a Disk" window during installation, opt for "Create a New Virtual Disk". This choice is ideal for a fresh OS install, devoid of any prior data.

Step 12: For the best performance, set the Disk Capacity to the recommended size. Also, save the virtual disk as a single file to avoid problems.

Step 13: Don't change the virtual disk name and location in the Specify Disk File window. Stick with the default sets to avoid any possible problems.

Step 14: Click "Customize Hardware" to change the virtual hardware settings however you want. This option gives you the tools to make any needed adjustments.

Step 15: To use virtualization, turn on features in the processor settings. This lets you run multiple operating systems or apps at the same time. Go to the BIOS or UEFI settings to activate virtualization support. Once it's on, you'll have better security and system performance.

Step 16: Switch on "Use ISO Image File" to access CD/DVD settings for the Kali Linux ISO. Go to settings and choose this option. After it's turned on, you can add the ISO file for installation or other tasks.

Step 17: To make sure everything works smoothly, set the USB Controller settings to version 3.1.

Step 18: Go to Display settings to adjust 3D acceleration. Set the graphics memory size to be compatible. This makes sure your system runs smoothly for the best 3D experience.

Step 19: After you've set up your Kali VM settings, close the wizard. Make sure all changes are saved and applied correctly before you start running the VM.

Step 20: Once the GRUB menu is open, choose "Graphical Install." Start the Linux installation on the VM by following the steps. Just follow the instructions to successfully install Kali Linux for different purposes.

Step 21: Once you've installed Kali on your virtual PC, you can use it smoothly as an extra operating system. Do tasks and run commands that your main OS doesn't support.
