A lot of people have been in the negative temperatures this week including us. So I decided to talk about and show the problem with Lithium Batteries for backup power. I go over the costs of different batteries, and show you the main issue that most Lithium batteries have. I also show you what voltage my duel cycle marine batteries are at being outside in a plastic box. To see that go to about 28 minutes in the video. I talk about how you can use Lithium batteries in the winter, and how to be able to charge them when it gets really cold. Most batteries don't have a low temp shutoff to protect the batteries from being damaged when trying to charge them when it's very cold.
