In this UE4 tutorial you will learn how to create a realistic landscape auto material!
We will go from a basic setup with slope detection and gradient-based blend, to using any number of automated layers and normal blending!
An auto landscape material is a good way of saving time and making your life easier by letting the engine do all the hard work. Basically, an auto material makes sure to paint certain textures if a condition is met, such as a slope being too big, so it can paint rocks there. That's what we're doing in this tutorial, but also going further to learn how we can implement normal blending so everything looks natural and how multiple automated layers can help us get better results!
