Use a set process for dealing with a difficult customer:
STEP 1: Listen and let them speak.
STEP 2: Ask questions to get to the bottom of their issue and to establish what their needs are.
STEP 3: Establish a common connection.
STEP 4: Come up with a solution or a recommendation that they are happy with.

Never get irate with a difficult customer and always remember you are representing your company’s brand, so you must be professional!
