Did you know some airplanes can fly up to six hours after one of their engines has failed?
The Airbus A350 has a so-called ETOPS rating of 370. Meaning in case one of the two engines fails, the plane can continue to an alternate airport, even if the airport is 370 minutes away from where the engine failure happened. This rating more or less approves that this specific aircraft can fly over the remotest parts of the world, as an alternate airport will be reached with that ETOPS certification.
