A common way to make comparisons is to calculate z-scores. A z-score tells how many standard deviations someone is above or below the mean. z-scores take into account the mean and standard deviations of distributions, which allows us to compare data values from different distributions and see which one is higher relative to their own distributions. The mean of the z-scores is always 0. The standard deviation of the z-scores is always 1. This will be helpful in making the comparison uniform as compared to raw scores and the performance of the student's performance can be compared between the two tests.
