The majority of people out there choose to take the path of least resistance. That means adopting opinions that they haven't thought about in any meaningful way and repeating them as a virtue signal to protect their accepted status within social groups. These people are functionally no different from non-player characters (NPCs) in a video game. All new ideas go through a "consensus filter" to make sure that others will accept the idea before they even consider it. Their second-hand opinions and baseless objections have no value and don't deserve your respect.
