Mad Jack: LEGO Rock Raiders Style
At long last, a LEGO Digital Designer project I started in late 2010 has seen completion.
One day, I was sitting at my computer, listening to a remix of Mad Jack's boss theme from Donkey Kong 64, and I thought to myself, "What would Mad Jack be like if he was designed in the style of LEGO Rock Raiders?" I'm sure most of you don't see the connection, but... um... let's see... Donkey Kong 64 and Rock Raiders were both released in 1999? Okay, to be honest, I don't see the connection either, but that's not important!
It took a series of concept sketches and one long Development Hell in LEGO Digital Designer, but at long last, I was able to finish it. This video is just meant to showcase the models, with 360 degree rotations and showing the various ways they can move; in essence, capturing that which mere screenshots cannot.
The song is "Mad Jack (Version 2)" remixed by Cornix et Corax (originally composed by Grant Kirkhope). After he closed his YouTube account, Sephiroth0172, I was saddened to see this remix disappear from the internet. It was, actually, the remix that inspired me to make this model in the first place.
