Stormtroopers (Sturmtruppen) eran pequeñas unidades de soldados bien entrenados y bien equipados empleados por el imperio Alemán durante la primera guerra mundial, su objetivo era romper el estancamiento de las líneas del frente.
Las tácticas involucraban escuadrones de soldados de asalto que avanzaban bajo un bombardeo de artillería progresivo corto pero pesado. Esto les permitió infiltrarse en las líneas enemigas a través de determinados puntos débiles.
