Now the footage stops right here on the dash cam because as these officers search the vehicle they shut the camera off, which is a violation of the 1st amendment, but i want to take a second to talk about the inaccuracies of K9 alerts on vehicles. I want to first start by stating the obvious, there was a dog inside of the drivers vehicle, so its entirely possible that a dog would become alert by seeing another dog, just a little common sense, i mean i have a dog and when i take him for walks everyday at my housing complex and he gets visibly alert when we pass by other dogs, even when they’re not outside. Dogs have a sense of hearing and smelling better than we do so they know when they’re in the presence of other dogs.
Also my dog knows how to sit and shake just by the movement of my right hand, I don’t even have to give him any verbal command. So i can only imagine that these dogs are trained to give off an “alert” just by their officer making a certain movement. I found a comment on the original post that i found interesting, (read)
Now if you’re still skeptical about the fact of inaccuracies in K9 alerts all it takes is a simple google search and you’ll see countless articles that prove my point, there was an article I found posted by ehglawfirm that talks about a study out of Illinois from 2007-2009 that reported that K-9 searches had an accuracy of only 32%
Now this isn’t the only study or article you can find online in regards to K-9 alerts, but there are some articles stating inaccuracies of up to 80%
The point is just because a dog makes an alert doesn’t mean it should be enough probable cause to pull a vehicle over and conduct a search and waste traveler’s time. Especially if it’s clearly visible that there is a dog in a drivers vehicle.

So there you have it, another example of hypocritical government officials that want to waste your time in hopes of finding dirt on you, but when they realize that you’re clean and following the rules they’re in a hurry to get you out of there, even going as far as threatening to cite you if you don’t leave. This is why people are losing respect for those that work in these positions when they act like this, and why more and more people are filming these interactions.
