Been vs being?

“Being" can be used in the progressive, and been in perfect tenses. There is some variation, so let’s look at some examples from twitter to represent the rules.

Let’s begin with some examples of “being...“

Being + adj: “They are being very loud and aggressive.” @thatgregperson
Being + noun: “Happy birthday. Thanks for being my friend.” @HunnerA
Being + participle: Searches are being conducted. @JSOPIO
As a noun: The world has lost a great human being” @elon musk
