You know, the static fire test that we saw last day could be the last of its kind at the current location, that is the launch site, as SpaceX has been building a new testing infrastructure at the Massey site, specifically designed for future Starship static fire tests. This new facility is a game-changer for SpaceX, offering enhanced safety, increased efficiency, and optimized testing capabilities.
The Neutron rocket is powered by the Archimedes engine, a 3D-printed marvel with a unique combination of engine cycle, propellant, and thrust class. Capable of developing an impressive 165,000 pounds of thrust, the Archimedes engine is designed for multiple restarts and can withstand thermal and operational strains. This cutting-edge engine technology enables the Neutron rocket to achieve unprecedented levels of performance and efficiency. The engine's first full assembly has been completed, paving the way for an intensive test campaign at the NASA Stennis Space Center in Mississippi.
