The Northern Cape Society for the Blind and the South African Library for the Blind hosted a cane walk, to highlight the challenges of visually impaired persons. The society caters for about 20 visually impaired people in the city, a drop in the ocean. This as 6% of South Africans live with a disability, according to Statistics South Africa's 2022 census.
