I WAS TRICKED ABOUT THE BEST PASTEL of BELÉM in LISBON PORTUGAL
Today we are in Lisbon Portugal and we are going to find out which is the best Pastel de Nata in all of Portugal. Remember that the recipe was made or well born here in Lisbon Portugal more specifically in Belém Lisbon in the decade of the 20th century and they have become very popular, since which is considered a gastronomic tradition in the country where it is prepared with egg yolks, sugar and a puff pastry giving the dough crunch.
We were in Amadora Lisboa where in 2023 it won the award for the best pastel de nata, remember that we visited the 4 best stalls selling Nata pastries selected by the local community and this was for Confeitaria Glória we tried some pastries and they really tasted very good as well with good presentation
We continued to the Barrio Alto area in Lisbon walking through its streets and arrived at Republic Street in Lisbon, the central point where Casa Brasilera was and also Manteigaria, the latter with one of the best Pastels de Nata we have tried.
We walked to taste the Nata cakes in the Republic Square in Lisbon and then we went in the direction of the Belém cakes, too many people it is a point well known by foreigners next to the monastery, the Jerónimos in Belém, we did the ranking in opinion which staff was the best
The answer is that it is not older or traditional, it is the best, despite being a recipe from the beginning, it was not what we expected.
