The Undying Mind Has Arrived! (Vex Offensive Final Assault) | Destiny 2: Shadowkeep (PS4)
The Undying Mind has finally arrived! Time to save the Moon! Greetings everyone and welcome to the Season 8 story finale of Destiny 2: Shadowkeep! After several weeks of construction, Ikora's time portal is complete. With it, we can now drag copies of the Undying Mind from their respective timelines and destroy them in our reality. Zavala and Ikora have successfully tested the portal 24 times and have green lit the final Assault of the Vex Offensive.
Much like the original Vex Offensive, this is a 6 man matchmade activity where you complete 2 horde mode encounters and then a final boss encounter. The first 2 encounters are recycled from the original activity while the boss has been swapped out for the Undying Mind. Nothing too special here. If you're after the Undying title, make sure you defeat the Undying Mind 3 times for the final triumph.
All in all, I thought this finale was a huge letdown. I expected something a lot more substantial considering the Undying Mind was a strike boss in Destiny 1. The activity was mostly recycled, the Undying Mind went down way too easily, and there's practically no satisfaction or sense of finality to the story here. It feels rushed and way too throw away. I'm very disappointed and I hope that Seasons 9, 10, and 11 do not follow this trend.
