Tropical regions experience the highest number of storms due to their strategic geography. An average of 75-85 storms occur annually in this belt.
These storms differ from each other in size, strength and behavior. While the smaller ones disappear after 24-48 hours, the larger ones can last for over a week! Therefore, heavy ship traffic through a storm area requires ships to be smart and responsive.
