Instructions:
Prepare backup disk:
Start the Disk Utility ... 00:17
Select disk ... 00:26
Click Erase ... 00:29
Enter disk name ... 00:33
Select disk format - OSXExtended ... 00:39
Click Erase ... 00:43
Close the Disk Utility ... 00:48
Setup Time Machine:
Click Use as backup disk ... 01:03
Time Machine setup ... 01:12
Unlock settings ... 01:15
Select disk to use for backup ... 01:21
Countdown to backup start ... 01:29
Switch OFF the Time Machine ... 01:35
Click Options ... 01:37
Add folders to exclude from backup ... 01:44
Switch ON the Time Machine ... 02:14
Backup:
Do first backup: click Back Up Now ... 02:19
Backup may take long time ... 02:29
Restore:
Let's create some files on Desktop ... 02:50
Do backup ... 03:09
Remove files ... 03:16
Let's restore files - click Enter Time Machine ... 03:26
This is Time Machine User Interface ... 03:31
Choose what you want to restore ... 03:37
Select date at the right ... 03:40
Mark files to restore ... 03:58
Click Restore ... 04:04
Files restored ... 04:09
Entire MacBook recovery:
You can restore entire macOS in case of emergency ... 04:14
Power on computer and hold Cmd+R ... 04:23
In recovery menu select Restore from Time Machine Backup ... 04:29
Plug in and select backup disk ... 04:44
Select date and time of backup ... 04:56
Select internal disk drive ... 05:06
Restoring files... ... 05:10
