TATAR CUISINE / KYSTYBY / PATTONS WITH mashed potatoes
Kystyby is an ancient traditional Tatar dish made from stuffed dough. It is a flat cake made of dough, fried in a dry frying pan, stuffed with either mashed potatoes or viscous millet porridge. And this stuffed cake is generously flavored with ghee or butter. Kystyby can serve as a completely independent dish (of course, there is such a hearty filling in the same place), for example, serving it with rich meat broth, or even just with a vegetable salad. And kystyby is also served with sweet tea, like a regular non-sweet pie.
INGREDIENTS :
potatoes 1 kg
sl. oil 100-150 gr
onion 2 pcs.
flour 500 - 600 gr
milk 300 ml
vegetable oil 50 ml
egg 1 pc.
sugar 1 - 2 pinches
salt to taste
