This is such an awesome piece that Dave Gleason recorded. Coach Mayabb was mic'd up for a lot of this video. It's such a great insight into the experience of a HS wrestler at a state tournament, especially in Missouri. I had beaten my opponent in the State finals twice prior in that year, but lost once again in the state finals. It's all I wanted as an 18 year old... to be a state champ. I learned a lot about how important the journey is, not necessarily the outcome, and to learn from loss. My father was taken 16 months later from me, so having these videos means the world to me. He was such a visionary... the presence of mind to secure all these memories and to preserve them before he died... it's unbelievable.
