Erin and I spent a few nights at the Hacienda Linda B & B adjacent to the Saguaro National Park across the mountains from Tucson. This part of Arizona was one of our favorite portions of the entire trip. We made a day trip southeast of Tucson to both Bisbee and Tombstone. Bisbee is a neat small mining town that was one of the most productive copper mines in the world before it closed down in 1974/1975. Today, visitors can take a tour of the underground mine to see what it's like to work underground. Bisbee also has a great Mining and Historical Museum that is definitely worth exploring. In this video, we cover the Queen Consolidated Mining's Lavender Open-Pit Mine right outside of Bisbee.
We recommend you spend some time in Bisbee, explore the museum, tour the Queen Copper Mine, and stop and check out the open-pit mine at the Lavender Pit on the way out.
