Understanding the Kubernetes Networking Layer - Margarita Manterola Rivero, Isovalent
When deploying Kubernetes clusters, most of the communication goes through the CNI (Container Network Interface). This networking layer is essential for the connectivity of our clusters, it's what allows the pods to communicate with each other, and the outside world to reach our services. And it's pluggable: there's a default CNI that comes with Kubernetes, but there are other CNIs available with a variety of features. This talk will explain what exactly is the role of the CNI and why some users choose to change the default. It will explore the different CNIs in use, covering advantages and disadvantages of each.
