The sentence in this meditation is a powerful tool. It is a promise not to be perfect but to refocus on the things that bring happiness in your life.
Take a piece of paper and write down:
"I sacrifice my attachment to __________
and I dedicate it to____________."
Fill in the blank.
Maybe you are letting go of perfectionism, control, going it alone, low self-esteem, regret, codependency, anger, or negativity. Any of these things.
Perhaps you'd rather dedicate yourself to being more present, connecting with friends, or getting out in nature. Maybe being inspired, learning new things, taking care of your body, asking for help, creating a spiritual practice, or practicing gratitude. Choose what feels right to you.
In a private moment, put the paper in your hand and hold it over your heart. Close your eyes and say them aloud, filling in the words that you wrote down.
Feel the commitment in your whole being, the yearning, imagining your life as you make this change. Breathe.
Doing this meditation once a day is a powerful behavioral health tool, helping your thoughts, actions, and intentions all move in the same direction. It is a step on the path to wellness.
