How to clean your Dyson V11 cord-free vacuum's soft roller cleaner head brush bars. Please note this applies to the Soft roller head only - the brush bar from the Direct Drive cleaner head or Torque Drive Motorhead should never be washed.
The Soft roller cleaner head has two washable brush bars - check and wash these regularly, or as needed. Ensure the machine is disconnected from the charger before removing the brush bars. Be careful not to pull the 'ON' trigger.
Wash the brush bars using cold water without detergent, and allow at least 24 hours for both brush bars to dry completely before reassembling your machine.
IMPORTANT: Brush bars from other Dyson cleaner heads should never be washed or submerged. This could cause damage not covered under your Dyson guarantee.
Step 1. Using a coin, undo the end cap fastener by rotating anti-clockwise.
Step 2. Lift the end cap and remove, before removing the main brush bar.
Step 3. The lift out the rear brush bar.
Step 4. Wash both brush bars with cold water. Do not wash the end cap.
Step 5. Wash the brush bars thoroughly, clearing any debris.
Step 6. Remove as much excess water as possible.
Step 7. Stand the brush bars upright, and leave to dry for at least 24 hours.
Step 8. Ensure the brush bars are completely dry before refitting.
Step 9. Slide the rear brush bar back into place then slide the main brush bar back into the cleaner head.
Step 10. Take care to align the end cap correctly. Position at a 45° angle, otherwise it cannot be pushed down into place.
Step 11. Using a coin, lock the end cap fastener by rotating clockwise.
