The author of the music of "Rio Rita" is the German composer of Spanish origin Enrique Santeugini. The first recordings of the work for the night club "Rio Rita" in Berlin called "Für dich, Rio Rita" were made in Stockholm and Berlin by the orchestra under the direction of Otto Dobrindt (German) Russian. (pseudonym - Eddie Saxon) (German Otto Dobrindt und sein Orchester) in 1932; the German text was written by O. H. Adam and J. Brest.
The following recording became better known to the Russian listener - "Pour toi, Rio Rita" with French text by H. Gietz and I. Sterbini performed by the orchestra under the direction of accordionist Maurice Alexander et son orchestre
"Rio Rita" has entered the repertoire of many performers. One of them is Marek Weber, who translated the title of the play into English - “For You, Rio Rita”. The recording performed by his orchestra (English Marek Weber & His Orchestra), made without text, but with castanets, in 1937 came to the USSR, where it gained immense popularity (so much so that daughters were even called Riorites).
The song became one of the symbols of the pre-war era, entered the repertoire of several performers; song of the same name by Irina Bogushevskaya ("Falling asleep, I see again ..."); she is often mentioned in works of that time; sounds in films, etc. (for example, "The house I live in" 1957; "The meeting place cannot be changed" in 1979; "Tomorrow was a war" in 1987; "Ten years without the right of correspondence" 1990 - from Russian text.
