What to do if huge bills for heating come? It seems that you pay not only for heating the house, but also for losses in the heating main that supplies heat. The solution to the problem is to install a heat meter in your apartment or house. Consider a thermal energy meter using the Pulsar DU15 heat meter as an example.
It is reasonable to put this meter in a dead-end branch of heat supply. If in an apartment building there is a vertical distribution of heating, then you will have to put it on each battery separately, and this is hardly reasonable.
How does a heat meter work? It measures the temperature at the inlet and outlet of the space heating system, plus it measures the amount of coolant passing through. Then all this data is sent to the counting unit, where the consumed thermal energy is calculated. The heat meter measures the heat energy. It is also possible to measure the energy of cold in air conditioning systems, but this must be agreed in advance with the supplier of the heat meter.
Heat meter main menu:
1. Consumed thermal energy.
2. Heat carrier consumption per hour.
3. The total volume of the coolant.
4. Operating time of the counter in hours.
5. Counter number.
6. Supply temperature.
7. Return temperature.
8. Temperature difference between supply and return.
9. Instant power.
In this heat meter, the computing unit is removable. This allows you to put it in a drier place. If necessary, it can be rotated 90 or 180 degrees.
The counter, by default, is placed on the supply pipe. You can also put it back. To do this, you need to reset the counter. How to do this is shown in the video.
For example, consider installing a heat meter for supply. When installing, check the integrity of the seals. Make sure that the direction of the coolant coincides with the direction of the arrow on the device case. One temperature sensor is already built into the device, and the second is inserted into the return pipeline using a valve or a tee adapted for installing a temperature sensor.
Do not install the device in places where air can accumulate. There must be no aggressive gases, dust accumulations, strong electromagnetic and thermal radiation in this place. The heat meter must not be shaken or exposed to water. A coarse filter is placed in front of the heat meter.
The heat meter has a non-volatile memory that registers energy consumption parameters. They can be viewed on the display through the heat meter menu. But it is more convenient to output the log through the RS485 port to a computer in a video of a convenient table. But only specialists can do this. An event log is also saved, which shows information about errors and changes to the meter settings.
Inspection of the meter is recommended at least once every 6 months. The heat meter is checked every 6 years. This replaces the lithium battery. The warranty period of the Pulsar DU15 counter is 5 years.
